"But part of getting to know yourself is to unknow yourself—to let go of the limiting stories you’ve told yourself about who you are so that you aren’t trapped by them, so you can live your life and not the story you’ve been telling yourself about your life."

About Me

Get to Know Me

I offer a compassionate and safe therapy space where you will have the space to share how you are really feeling without any expectation or judgement.

My approach provides a validating space where you can be honest about what you're experiencing whilst also building a safe therapeutic relationship in which I can hold up a mirror to any thoughts or behaviours that may be working against you.

Every client I see is unique in their own way and I celebrate everyones individual strengths alongside their courage to show up in therapy.

My predominant therapeutic training is based in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) but I also draw on various alternative therapeutic models depending on what support would be most valuable for you.

I have been involved within the Mental Health Industry for over 10 years including time volunteering with Victim Support Scotland and the NHS.

I'm an advocate of therapy and have personal experience of doing therapy.

Impact of Therapy

Awareness is known to be the first step to change.

Through therapy you can gain understanding of your thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and patterns of reacting.

This increased self-awareness can support you to make changes that allow you to live in a way that aligns with your true self.

Common benefits of therapy include:

  • gaining self-understanding

  • improving your relationship with yourself, and others.

  • gaining confidence and self-worth

  • reducing anxiety

  • learning healthy ways of coping

  • feeling more able to enjoy things

  • understanding and regulating your emotions

  • processing stuck emotions

  • changing your behaviours and habits

  • valuing your own needs

  • understanding and setting boundaries

  • breaking the cycle of people-pleasing

  • overcoming perfectionism and procrastination

  • improving your relationship with food and your body

Therapy can help you to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

When we feel overwhelmed we can often feel disconnected from ourselves, others and the world -therapy can ease the pressure you are feeling, provide you with skills to cope, and help you to re-connect.

In addition to talking, learning self-soothing techniques to calm your nervous system can be an important part of therapy for some clients.

Reaching out for therapy can be nerve-racking so make sure to give yourself credit for taking the step to look for a potential therapist and I hope you get the support you deserve soon.
